One month ago we started shooting FEMME, a body horror short by upcoming filmmaker Nina Noël Raaijmakers. Four days of shooting with a film crew in a packed student house wasn’t on our 2024 bingo card, but luckily we managed to get it done!

March 9th, the first day of filming. Somehow we need to fit a crew of 23 people, six actors and a group of 15 extras for the party scenes all in one student house in Rotterdam West. And guess what? We did! Sure, all the rooms and corridors were packed with crew, equipment, make-up & costumes and of course the obligatory student decor like shot glasses, a traffic sign and neckties scattered across the place. But spirits were high and everyone was ready to rock!

It was a first for us to shoot a body horror short at a typically Dutch ‘studentenhuis’ in Rotterdam. The perfect location for the tale of protagonist Fem, a first year’s student who is experiencing the disturbing changes her body is going through…

The story of FEMME shows the darker side of sorority traditions. Young student Fem discovers not only the harsh realities of typical college life, but also the interesting hunger that her own body seems to develop after a hazing ritual forces her to have sex for the first time.
